FREEHOLD 1, ST. ROSE 1 (Freehold wins 4-3 on PKs): Junior goaltender Sara Cobb stopped a pair of shots in penalty kicks, leading the Colonials (11-3) to 4-3 advantage on penalty kicks and, in turn, the tournament win over the Purple Roses (10-4-1).
Hayley Rice made the clinching penalty kick on Freehold’s fifth attempt and Cobb saved St. Rose’s final penalty kick for the victory. Cobb finished with five saves and St. Rose’s Alyssa Ciano made seven saves.
Freehold took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute on a goal by Meghan Holtz. St. Rose tied it at 1-1 when Katelyn Kraft scored in the 49th minute.
